Privacy
LAST UPDATED · MAY 8, 2026When you fact-check a post with Perclaim, we collect:
- The post text and images you choose to check
- An anonymous local ID generated by the extension (no name, email, or login required)
- Model and token usage data (for cost tracking)
We don't collect your name, email, browsing history, or any information about pages you don't explicitly check.
The post text and images are sent to large language model providers (OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate the fact-check. The verdict and supporting sources are stored at a public URL (perclaim.com/v/<id>) that you control by sharing the link.
Each fact-check has a unique URL. Anyone with the URL can see the post text, images, and verdict. We do not list these pages publicly or include them in search engine indexes by default. Don't fact-check content you wouldn't be comfortable making accessible to anyone you share the link with.
We use the following services to operate Perclaim:
- OpenAI and Anthropic (LLM providers — receive post text and images for analysis)
- Supabase (database and image storage)
- Vercel (web hosting)
- Resend (delivers contact form messages)
Each has its own privacy policy governing data they receive.
Perclaim does not set tracking cookies or use third-party analytics. Standard server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) are retained briefly for security and operational purposes.
You can request:
- A copy of any data associated with your anonymous ID
- Deletion of specific fact-checks or all your data
Use the form below — include the IDs of any specific checks you want removed (ck_xxxxxxxx or cl_xxxxxxxx).
Perclaim is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be announced on the homepage.
Verdict pages may include screenshots of social media posts that contain copyrighted material. If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, contact us with the following information:
- A description of the work you believe is infringing
- The URL of the verdict page where it appears
- Your contact information
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized
We will review legitimate takedown requests and respond promptly.
